Better Skiing: Ski Lessons
Welcome to this edition of Better Skiing, I’m Bruce Ruff.
The fastest way to improve your skiing is to take a lesson. Professional ski instructors are trained to help you break through those tough barriers you can encounter when learning to ski. They also have a critical eye to help determine what you are doing wrong on the hill.
I have compiled a short list of things you can do to get the most out of your ski or snowboard lesson.
• First, make sure you state your goals to your instructor. Tell them exactly what you want to learn.
• Be accurate when you state your ability and the type of terrain you ski. This will help your instructor start you out within your comfort zone.
• Ride the lift with your instructor and ask questions.
• Bring a small note pad with you and take a few notes. This will help you refresh your memory and give you things to work on after the lesson is over.
