Better Skiing: Setting Goals

Welcome to this edition of Better Skiing, I’m Bruce Ruff.
Do you want to become a better skier? My suggestion is to set some very specific goals for yourself. It could be that you want to be faster in the NASTAR course or you want to learn how to ski bumps.

Whatever your goals are, here are a few tips on how to achieve those goals.

  1. Upgrade your Equipment - Technology has every answer to your needs. If your budget is limited, a tune up will suffice for now.
  2. Take a Lesson - Be sure to tell your instructor your goals and what you want to learn. A good instructor will help you to achieve those goals.
  3. Ski with Better Skiers - Find friends who will push you without putting you in danger. This will expand not only your physical skills but your mental limits as well.
  4. Increase your Fitness Level - Don’t let your fitness level inhibit you from becoming a better skier. Strength, endurance, and flexibility are not only necessary in skiing but they also help prevent injuries.

Don’t let the end of season sneak up on you without reaching your goals.
