Design the Modern Board Competition - March 29th
Think your snowboard design is “so last year”? Do something about it: Help judge a competition between graphic designers to create a modern, “sick”-looking snowboard. A public display will be live for your own critique March 29th. Design Within Reach and Snowboard Outreach Society are partnering to relieve the public of ugly-looking snowboard designs…
Design Within Reach’s Denver Studio (2500 E 2nd Ave, Denver, 80206) is hosting a 2007 Design the Modern Board competition sponsored by Ride Snowboards with all proceeds benefiting SOS. Graphic designers from throughout Colorado have been invited to submit graphics for a modern snowboard design. There will be a public display of all entries March 29th, and the attendees will select the winning entry. All submissions will be reviewed by Ride Snowboards with the possibility of producing an in-line board.
A large prize raffle will be taking place in conjunction with the event. Cash donations at the door will support SOS’s program development. Food, beverages, and DJ will be provided by the hot new LODO restaurant, The Lure. Here’s the flyer:

Join SOS on March 29th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm to help select the winning board entry. All proceeds will support over 1,000 youth in Colorado during the 2007/2008 season. Please RSVP to denver@dwr.com by March 22.

I don’t snowboard, but I’ve seen some ugly paint on boards. For example…frogs? They don’t belong on snowboards. Maybe surfboards. And please, no more silhouettes of fake boobs. :P
