Aspen Highlands will stay open a week later - open till April 8!
There’s six feet of snow in Highland Bowl right now, and 6 inches of new snow yesterday, with more in the forecast. Basically, it sounds like it was an easy decision to keep the resort open for a week : Highlands will not close until April 8th, a week later than planned! Looks like I know what I’m doing this weekend…
From the Aspen/Snowmass Press Release:
“Reached on the Loge Peak chair today, David Perry, senior vice president, mountain division, Aspen Skiing Company said, “The rumors of the death of winter have been greatly exaggerated. There are six inches of new snow on the ground today, six feet in the bowl and more snow on the way this week. Don’t break out the bikes and golf clubs just yet.””
“The crew here at Highlands is excited for the extra week,” said Ron Chauner, mountain manager. “Everyone will pitch in and make this a great experience for visitors and locals.”
