If my two-and-a-half year old can do it . . .

January is “Learn to Ski and Ride Month” here in Colorado and we took full advantage of it last week getting our 2 1/2 year old daughter Bryn on skis for the first time at Steamboat. She had such a good time that she didn’t want to come in off the magic carpet.

Steamboat has an amazing learning area and the magic carpet couldn’t make it easier to get started.  Bryn’s instructor Jessica was perfect and one of Bryn’s new best friends!  At two-and-a-half she was only on the hill for an hour each day but she could have spent the whole day outside riding up and skiing down.

The program is called “Buckaroos” and if you have a child who you think is ready to get going, they’ll take good care of them and get them started off right.   Now obviously the resorts have learn to ski and snowboard packages for any age, but the attention is the same no matter your age.

Winter is here and it’s time to get out to enjoy it with your family so if not everyone is on skis or a board yet, January is the time to do it and you can get all the skinny on great deals at www.coloradoski.com/learn
