Sign Up Early for a Gems Card
The season may be winding down and a lot of the resorts have turned their lifts for the final time…but of the three that remain open, two are Colorado Gems. If you’re not familiar with the Gems resorts in Colorado, let us help you out:
The Gems are eight Colorado resorts that may be a bit smaller in size, but are also smaller in other good ways. Like smaller crowds, smaller prices, and smaller lift lines. The Gems resorts consist of Loveland and A-Basin—both of which are still open—Monarch Mountain, Eldora, Powderhorn, Sunlight, SolVista Basin and Ski Cooper.
Perhaps you’re saying saying “yeah, I’ve seen signs to those resorts while driving to another resort.” Well silly you for passing them by. The Gems offer great family friendly atmospheres and pricing, that down-home feeling like you’re a local there, and the best part…a discount card club that’s free to join! This past year saw 15,000 Gems Card club members, a club so popular that the cards ran out in early December.
If you’re one of the smart ones who joined up last year or if you missed out, now’s the time to join: the 06-07 Card signup was just made available on www.coloradogems.com so you can get in early and take advantage of all the savings.
We’ve been getting letters from Gems Card members this Spring telling us about their experiences at our Gems resorts and thought it might be fun to share a couple little tid-bits in case you weren’t sure if getting a Gems card was worth your while:
“We have just completed our first season as retirees and had a ball. We…particularly enjoyed the Gems.”
“We were at Monarch and SolVista Basin after major dumps and had the slopes to ourselves.”
“…the gems discount on top of the senior ticket price made skiing so affordable” “We had a great time at Ski Cooper and the snow was beautiful. I can’t remember the last time I had first tracks all day long! It was a welcomed change for me to experience the peacefulness and smaller crowds…. It was great to get out of the normal routine and step back in time so to speak. I get why many locals want to keep it a secret.”
“Powderhorn is my refuge. In 45 minutes I’m up carving the groomers, playing in the park, or cutting fresh tracks in the trees. Everyone has their own style and at Powderhorn I’m free to ride my way.”
Now stop reading and get up and enjoy the spring skiing!
